Commander College
Commander College 101 is the first step to equipping commanders in their
leadership role. The emphasis of this first step is on the comprehension of
the commander’s responsibilities, of the Gospel and of the legacy they pass
on to their leaders who will reach children and their parents.
The structure of the Commander College has been designed to allow participants
to remove themselves from their day-to-day responsibilities and be renewed
with teaching and fellowship. The schedule will allow enough time for participants
to rest, share ideas with others and ask others to pray for them beyond the
conference. Purpose: You already know that “Kids Matter to God.” Commander
College 101 is designed to be a reminder to those who lead the ministry of
Awana in their local church that kids also matter to God. More than any other individual,
the club commander holds the key to a successful Awana ministry.
With this in mind, Commander College 101 has these three purposes:
-
- To begin the Commander College training process with an emphasis on
defining the necessary role of a commander.
-
- To train commanders to excel in their unique leadership role
within their local church.
-
- To build a community among commanders who can continue to encourage
and pray for each other beyond the conference.
Commander College 201 builds on CC101 and takes commanders a step further.
