Missions Awareness Challenge
What is MAC?
Missions Awareness Challenge is Awana Clubs Canada’s
short term missions program. With Awana’s presence in
over 100 countries around the world we have many opportunities
for short term missions service.
From working with a local church to encourage their leaders and help
build their club, to helping at the annual leadership training
conferences by presenting workshops. From time to
time there are construction opportunities, such as renovating
or adding to a local church building or an Awana
missionary’s home.
Each participant is required to raise their own support
which could range from $2500 to $3500 depending on
the type of trip and duration. The funds raised cover air
transport, all in-country travel, accommodation and all
meals. Team size varies by trip with a minimum of six
to a maximum of twelve members with the exception of
the Leadership Training team which would require three
participants for any one location and the Pastor & Commander
trip which would be limited to two participants to
any one location.
In all situations the trip is organized through consultation
with the Awana National leadership and the work carried
out in partnership with the local Awana leadership.
